Use case

Field service routing for technicians and crews

Field-service and home-service teams lose billable hours to drive time. AIRO helps dispatchers sequence jobs so crews spend more of the day on site.

Why field service routing is different

  • Each job has a service duration, not just a drop-off
  • Customers book appointment windows
  • Jobs vary in length, so the day is hard to predict
  • Technicians usually start and end at a depot or at home

What the optimizer takes into account

Service time at each stop, appointment windows, vehicle or crew capacity where relevant, and travel time between stops.

What is not in the first release

Skill matching between technicians and jobs, scheduled breaks and real-time re-optimization are planned but not part of the initial version. We say so up front so you can decide if it fits your operation.

Spreadsheet in, schedule out

Start from your job list in Excel or CSV, validate it, optimize it and export one schedule per technician.

Frequently asked questions

Can AIRO handle time windows?

Yes. Time windows are a core constraint in the optimization engine. You provide an earliest and latest arrival per stop, and the engine plans routes that respect them. Stops that cannot be served within their window are reported as unassigned, with the reason, instead of being silently dropped.

Can AIRO optimize multiple vehicles?

Yes. The engine plans multiple vehicles from a single depot, respecting each vehicle's capacity, and balances the work across the fleet. Multi-depot routing is on the roadmap and is not part of the first release.

Can I optimize routes from an Excel file?

Yes. AIRO is built around the spreadsheet you already use. Upload an Excel (.xlsx) or CSV file with your orders and vehicles, map your columns, fix any validation issues, and run the optimization. You do not need to reformat your file into a rigid template.

Can I export routes for drivers?

Yes. You can export Excel or CSV files with one sheet or file per vehicle, including stop order, addresses, planned arrival times and optional map links and driver instructions.
